Product Cuisinart Cookware : Cuisinart Sandwich Grill

Cuisinart Sandwich Grill

Cuisinart Sandwich Grill Features
  • Sandwich grill browns and heats two sandwiches at a time
  • Also makes french toast and omelets
  • Deep pockets and nonstick finish on grill plates
  • Contemporary brushed-chrome exterior finish
  • 3-year warranty

Cuisinart Sandwich Grill Description

Lunch takes on a whole new dimension with this sandwich grill. Layer cheese, tuna, veggies, mushrooms, or whatever is desired between slices of bread, set on the deep-pocket grill, and close and lock the lid. Sandwiches come out perfectly browned and sealed, with a diagonal indentation making them easy to slice in half. The grill cooks one or two sandwiches at a time, and also turns out waffles and omelets. The nonstick finish keeps food from sticking, although a little butter or oil also helps. A red light comes on when the grill is plugged in and heating up; a green light announces the grill is ready to use. To clean, simply wipe off the grill plates when cool. The grill measures 9 by 9 by 3-1/2, and is covered by a three-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Customer Review Cuisinart Sandwich Grill

This little thing gets the job done! It's easy to use and easily wipes clean. The only difficult part to clean up is if anything drips by it's hinges, but seriously, it's nothing to be scared of. Waffle makers are more messy! I've found that simply one slice of cheese per sandwich is more than enough. I've tried the french toast recipe from the handbook it comes with. It was okay, but it came out a little eggy. Next time I'll go by what I know. The device does get hot! So thinking this is a safe alternative for children isn't a great idea. It's entire surface becomes hot and it also emits steam. I just love using this instead of dirtying my regular pans!

The coating in the electric skillet seems to be very high quality. This has been the problem with previous skillets that we would just throw away. This one seems to be a winner.

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Ceramic Bakeware

This is an excellent item. It cleans up well, and I have used it in the oven only at this point. I bought the red version and the interesting thing is, that as it heats, the red color darkens. When it cools down, it goes back to it's original color. It is less expensive than the Le Crueset, but so far, just as good.

Well, I'm changing my mind. Also my fault. Read the fine print and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER EVER let it get near the stove. Imagine if you will a pot filled with chicken grease/soup stock. It exploded. Big mess. I like the Le Crueset better still and all.

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized

I have a glass cooktop stove and this pan works great on it. You need to preheat the pan, and once you put your food on, let it be. I just used it for the second time, and 4 burgers (at once) came out great, better than the first time. I definitely let the pan heat up longer the second time, and didn't touch the burgers. I got great grill marks. I do wish the wall of the pan was alittle higher, as the grease really splattered on my stove. But I do love this pan!! One last thing, I have a George Forman grill, but I prefer this pan because I feel like I have more control over the process.

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized

This is the best non-stick pan I have ever owned, and at a great price too. I have the regular steel/aluminum Cuisinart pans which I also think are great, but I was having too much trouble cooking those frozen hash-brown patties which I love. Too much oil and too much sticking no matter what I tried. With this new pan you don't even need oil, though I put a litle in just for richness. The hash-browns do not stick at all, and you can push them around at any time and they never stick in the least. The glass lid is nice too because you can see your food while it cooks (at least until it is completely steamed up). All in all, you will be pleased if you buy it.

FINALLY! We have gone through a few different types of well known pots and this is the first time I can actually say I'm impressed. My husband is the real cook. I do the clean-up. We both are happy with the cooking qualities but I am OVERJOYED with the easy cleaning. We even overcooked spaghetti sauce one time, almost burnt, and the pan just wiped clean!! If I sound excited, I am. Years of scrubbing and giving up on pots has made this a great thing for me. We have most of a set.

Customer Review
Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized

I very thoroughly researched all the nonstick hard-anodized products out there and decided on Cuisinart because it had the most vesatile product selection. The 5-1/2 quart saute pan is the bomb!!! It heats faster, cooks faster, and clean-up is a breeze. The first time I used it, I cooked a stove-top dish I have cooked many times, but because the hard-anodized cooks faster and hotter, I neglected to turn the heat down to accommodate this and the whole meal was burned and I thought to myself, Oh, great! the first time you use the pan, you ruin it by burning the pan. Well I took it to the sink to pour out the remnants that were not burned and had anticipiated that I would have to soak and scrub the pan and when I tipped the pan the entire burned mess just slid out of the pan and it looked as if it had never been cooked in. What a pan!! I LOOOOOOVE this cookware. I bought every piece that Cuisinart offers in this line. BUY IT, YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized

This is (unfortunately) my second griddle. The Caliphon one I bought origionally turned out to stick like crazy. This was my fault, apparently, since I didin't read the fine print.

This griddle is exceptional. In the first place, it doesn't stick which is a must for a griddle. I am not a "professional" chef/cook so all I care about is a tool that works well without a lot of "preparation" or "conditioning". This griddle heats uniformily, the handle does NOT get hot, and it DOES NOT stick. In addition, you can use metal tools with it without harming it.

Cuisinart got it right with this griddle. One of the "best kept secrets" of the culinary world in my view.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Stainless 15-Inch by 11-Inch Large Roaster with Domed Cover

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Stainless Features
  • 18/10 Stainless Steel
  • Fits all Standard Ovens
  • Ideal for Turkeys, Chicken or large roasts.
  • Dishwasher Safe
  • Stainless Handles
Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Stainless Description

Large enough to roast two Cornish game hens, cook a rump roast with all the trimmings, or hold up to an 18-pound turkey, this 15-by-11-inch roaster is a staple for holiday or family dinners. Part of Cuisinart's Nonstick Stainless line of cookware, this roaster is constructed of mirror-finish 18/10 stainless steel with a layer of aluminum encapsulated in the bottom for quick and even heating. The durable Xylan Plus nonstick cooking surface in the pan's interior prevents foods from sticking and helps make cleanup easy. Wide handles on either side of the roaster are secured with stainless-steel rivets and provide a steady grip so you can easily lift heavy roasts. The domed lid offers additional height for cooking larger roasts or turkeys and seals tightly onto the pan to keep meat juicy and flavorful. A unique steam vent in the lid pops up to let excess steam escape, ensuring that roasts come out perfectly cooked every time. Included with the pan is a sturdy lift-out roasting rack, which allows for proper drainage and circulation of heat during cooking. This cookware is dishwasher-safe and oven-safe up to 550 degrees F. It is covered by a lifetime limited warranty.

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Stainless

I needed a roaster but found none with a cover in two major stores so decided to order online. I found this quickly here on amazon, and the price is pretty darn good!
I read all the reviews and own this item for 3 weeks, and used it 4 times. Here's how I think it sizes up:
DRAWBACKS:
1-the only drawback I read about was that the rack rusts, and this is very true. I decided to buy the item anyway, as I really needed a roasting pan and didn't think I needed the rack. It is very dangerous to eat rust so I am surprised and disappointed in Cuisinart for this. The rust does wash right off, and I still do use the rack. I'd just recommend removing it promptly after cooking.
2-i did not see anyone mention that the handles are connected to the non stick bottom and POKE THROUGH TO THE INSIDE. This is a design that I avoid when buying any pot/pan because it makes it harder or impossible to clean. It is so far no problem to clean.

I love this pan as do the other reviewers. The size is perfect (I roast two large, whole chickens with lotsa veggies around) the non-stick works great, the weight is great, and heats VERY evenly. The cover is domed which is perfect for roasting as you start out with a big buncha meat which shrinks as it cooks.

I would, despite the drawbacks, buy this again, and if I ever need a bigger one for a turkey I'll be getting the larger sized one for sure.

Customer Review Cuisinart Advantage Nonstick

I needed to replace an expensive, nonstick pan recently. I own a Circulon nonstick, but I didn't want to pay $80 for another Circulon since my husband isn't as careful with my pans as I am. I saw this Cuisinart pan and it was a great price. I own some other Cuisinart pieces and really like them. This pan is wonderful. It is nice and deep and a great size. Nothing sticks to it, it cleans up easily, and the handle doesn't get hot. I love the helper handle because I'm a small person and the helper handle makes it much easier to use the pan. I do wash by hand and am careful not to cook higher than a medium heat setting. You can't go wrong with this pan.

Customer Review Cuisinart Cast Iron

My husband and I were recently invited to dinner with another couple at a the Melting Pot. After we paid over $100 for our meal (per couple) that was just OK, I decided next time I could probably do better at home and save some money to boot!

This is a really easy pot to use. Its very well made and from the quality of constuction, I think we will be enjoying its use for many years to come. It is attractive and timeless in the white, so it matches all my white tablewear nicely and is not a trendy color that people will giggle about in 10 years (remember the orange and green remnants from the 70's by the time the 80's rolled around??)

I decided on this after reading what a pain to wash some of the electric ones were (the electric ones also looked really cheaply made in the store - like they would not last long). I also like that you dont have to buy any sterno cans to use this. Just pour plain (cheap) alcohol in and light! The flame is adjustable to get just enough heat to keep your dish hot without burning it.

My husband read the directions and mastered the burner in about 5 minutes (thats pretty good for us LOL). I made the crab and cheddar fondue over a double boiler and then poured it into the fondue pot to serve. Some recipes you can make right in this pot on the stove as well. It is pretty heavy duty and washed very easily. My "double boiler" is just a big pot of boiling water under my big stainless steel bowl - nothing fancy.

I bought the book "Fondue" by Robert Carmack along with the Fondue kit. I am pleased with this combination as he expains everything you would want to know about fondue along with some really great recipes.

Now that we have tried this and found it to be so simple and yummy, I am really excited about inviting our friends over to see that 4 people can enjoy a really nice Fondue dinner for way less then $200!

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless

I bought this pan on sale at Marshall's and wanted to try it out. A friend who does gourmet cooking for a living suggested this pan when I asked her what she used to cook with.

As soon as I bought this pan, I tried cooking potstickers, omelets, and stir-fry in it. Nothing stuck to it! It worked better than my old non-stick pans, and I didn't even use much oil in it.

I even used a lot of cornstarch in my cooking, but it didn't stick or burn in the pan. I did get the nice "fond" that the cooks often talk about, giving me a nice sauce to add to my foods.

After cooking, I just needed soap and a sponge. I'm getting rid of my old skillets and buying the rest of the cuisinart classic stainless ones.

I thank my gourmet friend for suggesting this. I only wished she would have come much earlier to my rescue!!!

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless

I own a lot of Cuisinart cookware, and am consistently pleased with the combination of quality and value. I bought this in lieu of another large, cast-iron Dutch oven, because I can't easily handle really heavy cookware.

I use this for deep frying and making smaller batches of homemade soups, when I don't want to drag out my large stock pot. I'll try the stovetop popcorn idea suggested by another reviewer -- it's a strong and resilient pot that I could probably use for any number of other things.

As noted, the high-shine finish is featured both inside and out, and as with all Cuisinart cookware, the glass lid fits nicely. I hand wash all my pots and pans, but this is listed as dishwasher safe, too.

I bought this to replace an older smaller pasta cooker. I have about 20 pieces of the Cuisinart Multiclad Pro cookware but couldn't justify spending over $100 for a large stockpot. The only notable difference is that the Multiclad has the sandwiched aluminum all the way up the sides of the pot. Not really necessary I thought for something I would use mostly for boiling water. Besides, the heat source is only really from below and that extra multiclad surface only adds to the weight.

I love the shiney exterior and the large capacity compared to my previous pasta pot. The steamer insert is a nice little extra but I'm not sure I'd want to haul out this enormous pot just to steam a few veggies. The lid is more domed than Cuisinart's standard lids and has a more sculpted handle. Cleanup is easy but only if you have a very large sink. The handles on both the pot and insert are solid and appear to be very securely attached.

So what's not to like?

This pot was a lot bigger than I anticipated. So large in fact that it doesn't fit in my normal cookware drawer. I ended up having to divide the pot from the insert just so it would fit in the cabinets. And that domed lid just adds to the height. The insert didn't need to stick out of the pot as far as it does and the handles on the insert come out further than those on the pot itself. Where the pot will barely fit, the insert won't just because of the handles. The other problem with the height of this pot comes when you try to use it on your stove. I nearly have to stick my head under the fan hood to see inside it!

The inside of both the pasta insert and the steamer basket won't drain completely. There are no drain holes along the bottom outer edges so the water continues to drip after removing it from the pot whenever it's tilted. I'm also not sure why they made the outsides of the insert and steam basket so shiny but made the insides brushed. This is almost the opposite of their fry pans. A shiny smooth inside would have made cleanup easier without the use of Teflon.

It would have received 5 stars except for these minor issues.

Customer Review Cuisinart Chef's Classic-steel

After comparing major cookware lines, All Clad, Emeril, Wolfgang Puck, Jamie Oliver online, as well as in major stores, Williams Sonoma, Macy's, Linen n Things, etc., I purchased Cuisinart's Chefs Classic set. Quality, features, and value could not be matched! The price (with free shipping), also included a kitchen tools set, a nice bonus.

Thanksgiving was my big "road test". The quality is outstanding! The mirror finish stainless kettles have a nice weight, well-fitting lids, classy sturdy riveted handles, flat bottoms that fit nicely on the burners, and stay-cool handles. They heat evenly. I do not like nonstick cookware, and by adding a little water to the pan after cooking, cleanup was a breeze. I put them all in the dishwasher and they come out sparkling.

I bought a chrome potrack and display them proudly. They indeed look and perform like very high-priced cookware. This was indeed a great purchase!

Any minor spotting or discloration from use, disappears like magic with the use of a small amount of Barkeeper's Friend powder.

I am so pleased with my set that I have already added to it; I purchased a 2qt. and 3qt. saucepan, and the 5 1/2 qt. saute pan. The saute pan is a work of art; especially good for those big pieces of meat on Holidays, and at $39.99, an unbelievable value. I plan on purchasing several as gifts.

It is also ovenproof to 550 degrees; something not found in the plastic-lid products.

You will not be disappointed.

The Story of Cuisinart

Dismissed as a lifestyle fad when it appeared in 1973, the Cuisinart home food processor quickly revolutionized attitudes about cooking. The simple combination of a stainless-steel chopping blade and a wide-based, 7-cup mixing bowl opened a shortcut for cooks to prepare complicated meals quickly. A company formed around the device; its inventor, Carl Sontheimer, headed the company until 1987. (Prior to devising the food processor, Sontheimer invented a microwave direction finder used by NASA on a mission to the moon.) Today, the food processor is just a small part of a kitchenware empire that extends from the stove across the countertop to the farthest reaches of the cupboard--from toaster to towel to teakettle. Cuisinart cookware in particular performs nicely; the company's Everyday Stainless line features products that are lined inside and out with 10/18 stainless steel and have copper bottoms to spread heat quickly and evenly.
